Profile: Argene SA offers products and reagents for the detection of infectious agents in laboratories. We have obtained the CE and ISO 9001:2008 certifications. Our products include CINA kit for HCMV antigenaemia tests, monoclonal antibodies and complete kits for the identification of respiratory viruses, antibodies against HSV 1/2, VZV, rotavirus, EBV, HAV, toxoplasma, specific bacteriae and antibodies. In the CINA kit for HCMV antigenaemia, the antibody pool labels different epitopes expressed in the nuclei of infected peripheral blood, and thus ensures avoiding false negatives. The kit provides improved reading even if the sample does not reach the laboratory under optimum conditions. The anti ppUL83 pool stains a higher number of cells in positive samples when compared to a monoclonal alone. The RSV DIRECT IF kit is intended for the detection of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) by means of direct immunofluorescence with a monoclonal antibody conjugated to fluorescein. This kit is composed of a ready to use conjugated antibody in a dropper bottle, positive/negative control slides, and a vial of mounting medium. The test is standardized to allow an incubation period of 15 minutes. We also supply products such as rapid detection kits for influenza or streptococcus A (QUIDEL).

• Cytomegalovirus CF Antigen (FDA Code: GQH / 866.3175)
Cytomegalovirus serological reagents are devices that consist of antigens and antisera used in serological tests to identify antibodies to cytomegalovirus in serum. The identification aids in the diagnosis of diseases caused by cytomegaloviruses (principally cytomegalic inclusion disease) and provides epidemiological information on these diseases. Cytomegalic inclusion disease is a generalized infection of infants and is caused by intrauterine or early postnatal infection with the virus. The disease may cause severe congenital abnormalities, such as microcephaly (abnormal smallness of the head), motor disability, and mental retardation. Cytomegalovirus infection has also been associated with acquired hemolytic anemia, acute and chronic hepatitis, and an infectious mononucleosis-like syndrome.
