Profile: Cardica,Inc. designs and manufactures products which automate the connections, or anastomoses, of blood vessels during coronary artery bypass graft(CABG) and other grafting surgeries. Our products are C-Port® and PAS-Port®. Our C-Port® and PAS-Port® systems are designed to improve the consistency of the anastomoses, decrease the time required for completing the anastomoses, contribute to improved patient outcomes, and facilitate minimally-invasive, sternum sparing CABG surgery. Our systems avoid interrupting blood flow in the coronary artery or clamping the aorta, which can lead to complications such as stroke. Our C-Port® systems attach the end of by pass graft to a coronary artery downstream of an occulsion or narrowing during coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Our PAS-Port® system is a fully automated device that is used to perform a anastomosesis between a sapheneous vein and the arota during either on or off pump CABG surgery.
