We develop Patient Exposure Management Network (PEMNET), for the measurement and record keeping of patient skin exposure during diagnostic X-ray procedures. Our PEMNET® records data for all modalities of X-ray such as fluoro, pulsed fluoro, CINE, digital, angiographic and radiographic applications. The PEMNET® features a speedometer display mounted adjacent to the CINE/fluoro imagining monitor. This display alerts the physician to patient dose considerations by displaying, in real-time, the fluoro or CINE dose rate in R/min, and cumulative procedural radiation in R. Our PEMNET® provides a complete documented database for each patient, that includes not only patient exposure broken down by modalities, but also patient demographic data, fluoro and CINE exposure time & number of runs. It also implements diagnostic X-ray systems for real time monitoring of patient skin exposure. The PEMNET® is a network so that the patient data can be made available for instant access at desk, via a departmental or hospital wide LAN.
