Profile: Dallas Eye Prosthetics provides custom ocular and scleral shell prosthetics for patients of all ages. Our services include restoration for the conditions like enucleation, evisceration, phthisis- bulbi, congenital anophthalmia, congenital microphthalmia and replacement prosthesis. Our product line includes custom eye prosthetics, scleral shell prosthetics, pediatric fitting, replacement prosthetics and peg intregration. Our scleral shell prosthesis is a thin, hard acrylic shell-like artificial eye. This type of eye prosthesis is worn over a damaged and/or disfigured eye or eviscerated globe. It covers the entire surface of the eye, restoring it to a natural appearance. The fitting process involves making an alginate impression of the cosmetically blemished eye. This will allow the ocularist to create an anatomically correct and comfortable prosthesis. An impression fit shell will also provide maximum comfort, movement, and wearing time. Our custom eye prosthetics is hand painted using only the finest in dry powder pigments, which provides a vibrant color that lasts many years. Once completed, it is worn continually, even when sleeping.
