Profile: Ellex Medical Pty. Ltd. designs, manufactures and markets a complete line of lasers & diagnostic ultrasound systems used by ophthalmologists to diagnose & treat eye diseases. We maintain a strong emphasis on intellectual property and research into new & better treatments for ophthalmic diseases. We manufacture and sell our own complete line of photodisruptors, photocoagulators, SLT systems & ultrasound systems for diagnosing & treating cataract, retina & glaucoma conditions. Photodisruptors are Nd:YAG lasers that deliver short pulses of infrared light in the form of microplasma bursts. The fully integrated design of our Ultra Q and Super Q photodisruptors optimizes laser treatment & provides a number of advantages, including more stable, reliable & consistent energy delivery. Both feature a compact, efficient design that encases all system controls and components within the slit lamp & console. This optimized design creates more working space for the physician, as well as convenient, simultaneous access to the patient and laser controls. Photocoagulators are used to manage glaucoma and retina disorders like diabetic retinopathy & age-related macular degeneration. They deliver visible light through the clear window at the front of the eye to cauterize leaky blood vessels and other targets beneath the retina. Photocoagulators can be used in outpatient clinics or operating rooms. Our photocoagulators deliver safe, predictable and consistent energy through a true, continuous-wave laser beam with active light regulation throughout the selected exposure time. They include the solitaire, the integre and the new integre duo.
