Profile: FAO Flex Srl specializes in the working of cellulose acetate for eyewear and sunglasses. We introduce our own brands, but the true strength of the company is the production for other firms. The first phase of our workmanship consists in the cutting of the acetate plates in tablets that are shaped in the numerical control centers. The fronts and the temples are treated with acetone and then processed to the phase of tumbling, that lasts for 5 days. After the tumbling, the hinges are inserted, allowing the assemblage of the fronts with the temples. This last operation is rigorously hand made. The surfaces are joined and polished through the use of wheels. Then they are shaped and lenses are inserted. In the next step, they are stamped using ink and adjusted.
