It is designed to be used in delivering aerosol medication to the lungs. This helps prevent the waste of medication. When a spray of aerosol is released into the E-Z Spacer, the medication will be held in the reservoir bag for a moment. The holding reservoir bag removes most of the larger aerosol drug particles that may deposit in the mouth and throat, while allowing smaller particles to enter into the lungs. Primsol® is a solution of the synthetic antibacterial trimethoprim in water.
