Profile: Filtrona Filter GmbH specializes in offering custom bonded fiber and hydrophilic foam fluid & vapor handling components to medical brand owners. The components are used in a wide range of product applications including writing instruments, inkjet printer cartridges, medical diagnostic devices and air fresheners. Our products are based on bonded fiber, technical foam and other specialty materials that employ liquid capillary transfer science. Our Fibertec bonded fiber and Lendell foam components feature a wide range of product applications, including medical diagnostic devices and wound care. The Active Patch™ filter consists of crimped cellulose acetate fibers which are bonded together with a controlled amount of plasticizer to give a firm structure. This is enclosed in an outer plugwrap which can be standard or porous depending on the ventilation requirements. This plugwrap is applied with a patch of granular activated carbon. The carbon patch can be in a single patch formation or laid out in a split patch configuration surrounding the ventilation zone of the finished product where increased loadings are required. A wide range of patch sizes and configurations, filter lengths & circumferences can be selected to suit the taste & filtrations requirements of the customer.
The company has revenues of USD 25-50 Million, has ~240 employees and is ISO 9001 certified.

• Dialysis Blood Filter (FDA Code: FKJ / 876.5820) A hemodialysis system and accessories is a device that is used as an artificial kidney system for the treatment of patients with renal failure or toxemic conditions and that consists of an extracorporeal blood system, a conventional dialyzer, a dialysate delivery system, and accessories. Blood from a patient flows through the tubing of the extracorporeal blood system and accessories to the blood compartment of the dialyzer, then returns through further tubing of the extracorporeal blood system to the patient. The dialyzer has two compartments that are separated by a semipermeable membrane. While the blood is in the blood compartment, undesirable substances in the blood pass through the semipermeable membrane into the dialysate in the dialysate compartment. The dialysate delivery system controls and monitors the dialysate circulating through the dialysate compartment of the dialyzer. |
