Profile: Gorge Medical offers a variety of surgical systems & screening tools useful to orthopedic surgeons, hand surgeons, occupational & physical therapists, nurses and other health-care professionals. The Durkan CTS gauge® provides a quantitative method for diagnosing and monitoring patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). A specially calibrated, dial-type gauge provides accurate measurements of the amount of applied pressure. This constant pressure (usually 12 - 15 lbs per square inch) is applied for up to 30 seconds. The Durkan CTS gauge® is a rapid and inexpensive alternative to electrodiagnostic testing in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome. Our adjustable 2-point caliper system provides accurate sensory assessment. This method is useful for measuring cutaneous sensibility between 2 points at 0.5mm intervals up to 20 mm on an easy-to-read scale. The West-hand™ instrument is a monofilament nerve tester. It delivers calibrated forces to intact skin by use of its five force-calibrated Enhanced™ monofilaments. The bending of the monofilament automatically compensates for natural unsteadiness in the hand to achieve the calibrated force.
