High Sensitivity CRP is a laboratory test. The ability of the hs-CRP test to measure minute levels of CRP is a useful tool and an independent predictor of increased cardiovascular disease risk. HS-CRP is used to help predict a healthy persons risk of cardiovascular disease. The goal of high sensitivity C-reactive protein testing is to predict the risk of future coronary artery disease (CAD) events in apparently healthy persons so that appropriate & effective primary interventions can be initiated and to predict the risk of recurrent coronary events in a patient with diagnosed CAD so that appropriate interventions can be initiated or monitored.
