Profile: Mastel Inc. specializes in the design and production of ophthalmic surgical instrumentation. We have complete offerings for all phacoemulsification parameters, Corneal Relaxing Incisions (CRI's) for astigmatism reduction and control, as well as excellent new technology for glaucoma filtration procedures. We have the most sophisticated fine metal working in the industry, particularly suited to the critical intraocular environment for phaco surgery and also to keratorefractive applications related to astigmatic keratotomy footplate finishes as well as microkeratome servicing. We routinely work at a micron or submicron level as necessary. The price fine triamond is the ultimate utilitarian phaco diamond available. The 500 micron wide tip allows a very small internal opening for the paracentesis as required for most wire instruments. By simply pushing further into the anterior chamber after penetration enlarges the wound symmetrically, maintaining the trapezoidal wound margins (smaller internal/larger external). For more generous side port dimensions, the blade is easily slipped sideways after penetration of descemet's membrane, which can be especially useful in the soft eye or shallow chamber situations. It is superior in performance for all wound enlargement aspects in phacoemulsification surgery today.
The company was founded in 1991, has revenues of < USD 1 Million, has ~10 employees.
