Chromic gut is composed of purified connective tissue derived from the serosal layer of beef intestines. Sutures are packaged in a formulated solution of isopropanol, water, triethanolmaine & are treated with a chromic salt solution. Mild chromic sutures are specially treated for ophthalmic and cuticular applications. Chromic surgical gut suture is absorbable. The suture is supplied in precut lengths attached to various needle types in one- to three-dozen boxes. Dermabond topical skin adhesive is a sterile, liquid topical skin adhesive designed to repair lacerations and to close surgical incisions. It reacts with moisture on the skin's surface to form a strong, flexible bond. It is intended for topical application only to hold closed easily approximated skin edges of wounds from surgical incisions, including punctures from minimally invasive surgery & simple, thoroughly cleansed, trauma-induced lacerations.
