Profile: Microvascular Eye Technology Ltd. designs Microcan to directly deliver therapeutic agents to the retinal blood vessels. This is the way to treat RVO and other ocular diseases and disorders. This proprietary device consists of a stainless steel cannula that is less than 100 microns in diameter. It is specially curved to allow retinal surgeons to maneuver within the confines of the eye and precisely sharpened to allow penetration of the very small retinal veins. Microcan enables surgeons to direct deliver fibrinolytic agents into the veins to treat RVO.
