Profile: On-X Life Technologies, Inc manufactures the On-X® Prosthetic Heart Valve. Our heart valve is a pure carbon bileaflet heart valve prosthesis. The smooth surfaces of pure carbon, a transitional flare at the inlet and sleek interior contours of the valve diminish the principal causes of turbulence and thrombosis. This valve is durable and does not require intensive warfarin anticoagulation therapy. We also provide cardiac surgery products such as CarbonAid, which is a unique carbon dioxide (CO2) delivery device that allows for a high laminar outflow of CO2 at a low outflow velocity. It creates a total CO2 atmosphere within the wound cavity by avoiding turbulence, thus eliminating any risk of air embolism during a cardiac surgery. We also offer a range of services related to pyrolytic carbon components and assemblies.
