Profile: RF Surgical Systems Inc. Technical Center offers RF Surgical Detection System™ for hospitals and medical centers that detects and prevents retained surgical sponges in patients undergoing surgery. The three key components that make up the system are; a hand held scanning wand, self-calibrating console, and a micro RF tag which is embedded in a variety of surgical gauze, sponges and towels. The RF tag is a small, hybrid for unobtrusive use in gauze and sponges, including those used in minimally invasive & OB procedures. Our hand held Blair-Port Wand® model 0010 is lightweight for ease of use, and has a disposable wand cover for easy transfer to sterile field. The RF surgical detection console model 100A provides no cost to hospitals and has audible alarms, intuitive steps for power cord & wand connections, case and circuitry features.
