Profile: Scantek Medical, Inc. offers breast differential temperature sensor. It is a new adjunctive single use differential temperature sensor that measures metabolic activity associated with breast diseases. The device is cleared for marketing by the FDA, with the intended use by physicians as an adjunct to routine physical examination, including palpation, mammography, and other established procedures for the detection of breast disease. Our BreastCare DTS® product is designed to assist in the detection of breast disease by recognizing significant heat differences in the underlying tissue of a particular area, by comparing corresponding (mirror-image) segments of one breast to the other. The cause of the temperature differential cannot be determined by this test alone, so the BreastCare DTS® serves as an early warning signal to alert the doctor to a metabolic activity, one of which could be thermally active breast cancer, that should be evaluated further within a particular area of the breast.
