Profile: Simbex, LLC offers exercise products. We offer products and services for injury prevention & mobility for older adults and disabled individuals. Our product ActiveStep helps people stay healthy, active and engaged by building confidence in balance & mobility. The system rejuvenates the step response and body control that helps prevent falls by providing precise, controlled balance challenges within a safe environment. It integrates biomechanical movement analysis and dynamic, neuromuscular re-education of the automatic recovery step in a state-of-the-art clinical tool for fall assessment & fall prevention training. The system is used to retrain stepping responses, which may be negatively affected by age, with the goal of reducing falls following a tripping or slipping event. The training is given by a therapist and is reimbursable under most insurance plans & medicare. Our Head Impact Telemetry (HIT) system is a commercially available system that can measure head accelerations (impacts) in real-time during games and practices. The HIT system transforms a helmet or headgear into a head-impact monitor. A microprocessor- based data collector receives impact data continuously from encoders that can be hundreds of meters away. The HIT system can monitor dozens of athletes or soldiers simultaneously. Our proprietary software analyzes the data and sends a warning via an alert pager if any impact has a potentially injurious profile.
