Our X-BOLT® is comprised of an inner shaft with threads of reversing directions, an outer sleeve with expandable section, and a cap to give a smooth superior interface. The four expandable arms ensure that maximal expansion is always seen on standard AP and lateral X-rays. Rotation of the inner bolt compresses, deforms, and expands the outer sleeve; the torque being resisted by the keyed plate barrel, or the set screw of the trochanteric nail.
