Profile: The Eye Concern, Inc. provides ocular and facial prosthetics. We use modified impression method. We fit over all types of implants including the hydroxyapatite and medpore. We also specialize in the Self Lubricating Prosthesis™. Our services include acrylic ocular prosthesis, acrylic scleral shell prosthesis, orbital prosthesis, custom conformers, graduated conformers, refitting of ocular prosthesis, polishing & cleaning of prosthesis and self lubricating prosthesis. Our acrylic scleral shell prosthesis is very common for a patient with an unsightly blind eye or phthisical(shrunken) globe. With our exacting methods, this can be accomplished provided the cornea is not overly sensitive. Our orbital prosthesis replaces all removed parts presenting the wound area as normal once again. Our graduated conformers also called expansion conformers are used most often with very young children born with undeveloped (microphthalmic) eyes. They are used to develop the space around the undeveloped eye so that the space matches with that of the companion eye. This ensures that the eyes will match when the scleral shell is fit.
