Infrared photocoagulator Laser
Infrared photocoagulator laser is indicated for all retinal photocoagulation procedures, such as limited and pan-retinal, transpupillary laser photocoagulation, endophotocoagulation and transscleral photocoagulation, and glaucoma procedures, such as laser trabeculoplasty and iridotomy. It can be used in combination with various delivery systems, such as slit lamps, binocular indirect ophthalmoscopes, endoprobes and transscleral probes.

Infrared Pupillometers
Infrared pupillometers measure the distance between pupils and also measure the pupil's response to visual stimuli. The main use of infrared pupillometers is to assess patient suitability for refractive surgery. It is used to determine scotopic pupil diameter.

Intense Pulse Lights
Intense pulse light is a non-invasive, non-collimated, non-coherent light source of variable wavelengths. The treatment works by selective photothermolysis. It produce non-laser flash lamp light source for skin rejuvenation, hair removal, treating leg veins and vascular conditions, as well as tattoo removal.
Palomar Medical Technologies, Inc., Medical Supplies & Equipment Company LLC

Intense pulsed light (IPL)
Intense pulsed light (IPL) works on the same principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with colour (chromophores) in the skin. It improves the appearance of vascular lesions including spider naevi, port wine stains, broken facial veins, rosy cheeks, thread veins of the legs, mild acne spots, freckles and age marks, and facial lines and wrinkles.

Intra corneal Rings
Intra corneal rings are polymethylmethacrylate segments that are surgically fitted into the core corneal stroma to even out the central cornea. It is suitable in optical application for the treatment of various eye conditions like keratoconus, forme frusta keratoconus with mild myopia, post-LASIK ectasia, pellucid marginal degeneration and cornea.
Ioltech Laboratories

Intracorneal Ring Implants (INTACS)
Intracorneal ring implants (INTACS) are a vision correction option to treat low to moderate levels of myopia. It is used to correct myopia in patients who have keratoconus and those who have residual myopia following laser refractive surgery. It is a less invasive treatment option than corneal transplantation for moderate to advanced keratoconus.
Pro Orthopedic Devices, Addition Technology Inc.

Intracorneal Rings (ICRs)
Intracorneal rings are implanted into the peripheral cornea to flatten the anterior curvature of the central cornea and correct low degrees of myopia. The rings are made of a polymethylmethacrylate. Intracorneal rings are used to treat low myopia. Intracorneal rings are plastic inserts placed in the cornea. These rings are small device implanted in the eye to correct vision. An advantage of the intracorneal rings is that they are removed and the eye is restored to its preoperative refractive error. Intracorneal rings are thin synthetic arch-shaped segments, which together have an inner diameter of 6.7mm and are implanted into the stromal bed of the cornea. They are implanted at the corneal periphery, which flattens the corneal center.

Intraocular Fluid (FDA Code: LWL / 886.4275)

Identification. An intraocular fluid is a device consisting of a nongaseous fluid intended to be introduced into the eye to aid performance of surgery, such as to maintain anterior chamber depth, preserve tissue integrity, protect tissue from surgical trauma, or function as a tamponade during retinal reattachment.

Intraocular Forceps
Intraocular forceps are designed to grasp and remove tissues or foreign bodies within the anterior chamber, posterior chamber, and within the vitreous. It has 1.5 to 2.0 mm jaws and long shafts. The shafts are also small in diameter to accommodate insertion into the different compartments of the globe. It is used in small animals to grasp and remove portions of the anterior lens capsule and portions of the lens cortex and nucleus.

Intraocular Irrigating Solutions
Intraocular irrigating solution is used to maintain both the anatomic and physiologic integrity of intraocular tissues. Many physiologic studies performed on the corneal endothelium have confirmed that a solution with a chemical composition similar to aqueous and vitreous humor provides the best protection for intraocular tissues.

Intraocular Lens
An intraocular lens is an implanted lens in the eye. It is usually replacing the existing crystalline lens because it has been clouded over by a cataract, or as a form of refractive surgery to change the eye's optical power. It usually consists of a small plastic lens with plastic side struts, called haptics, to hold the lens in place within the capsular bag inside the eye.

Intraocular Lens (IOL) Inserters
Intraocular lens (IOL) inserter is a device for inserting an intraocular lens through an incision into an eye. This system consists of a tube defining a hollow passage, an injector rod longitudinally moveable within the hollow passage and a force transfer assembly coupled to the injector rod. The injector rod has a distal portion adapted to contact the intraocular lens within the hollow passage of the tube to urge the intraocular lens distally through the hollow passage.

Irrigating Cannulas
An irrigating cannula is used to irrigate under the flap, wash out any interface debris, and float the flap into the correct position. The diameter of the cannula can range from gauge 26 to 30 and the length and angulation can be variable depending on the designer and manufacturer. Some cannulas have spatulated or flattened tips to allow for easy insertion underneath the LASIK flap. Other innovations are side ports or multiple openings for diffuse irrigation and effective floating of the flap.

Ishihara Pseudoisochromatic Plate
Ishihara seudoisochromatic plate is the most common clinical test for colorblindness. Most ishihara test plates are pointillist circles containing an Arabic numeral, which should be visible (if a little eye-popping) to a normal viewer, but only weakly visible or invisible to a colorblind individual.
