Profile: Solon Manufacturing Co. specializes in single-use disposable medical products. We manufacture both domestic single use disposable line under the Solon brand name, and a value single use disposable line under the Solon Care™ brand name. Our product list comprises of cytology brushes, cervical scrapers, specula, calcium alginate & specialty applicators, and cotton-tipped applicators. Our cervical scrapers are hand-selected and polished for optimum patient care with a smooth finish. They are made from white birch, and are durable & useful for a variety of purposes, such as specimen sampling either orally or on the surface of the skin. Our calcium alginate applicators are tipped with a natural alginate extracted from seaweed and spun into a silky fiber. Calcium alginate is biodegradable in the human system, unlike cotton, which could cause foreign body reactions.

The company was founded in 1936, has revenues of USD 5-10 Million, has ~80 employees and is ISO 13485:2003 certified.
