Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Systems (6 suppliers)
IPL systems work on the principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with color (chromophores) in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the specific target area. IPL systems are different to lasers in that they deliver many wavelengths (or colors) in each pulse of light instead of just one wavelength. Most IPL systems use filters to refine the energy output for the treatment of certain areas. This enhances penetration without using excessive energy levels and enables targeting of specific chromophores and is considered a non-ablative resurfacing technique, which means that it targets the lower layers of skin (dermis) without affecting the top layers of skin. The IPL therapy is a minimal downtime and a patient can often have the procedure done and return to work immediately afterwards.

Image Intensifiers (48 suppliers)
Image intensifier or Flouroscope, is a highly complex piece of equipment which uses x-rays and produces a 'live' image feed which is displayed on a TV screen. It allows low energy x-rays to be amplified through the machine resulting in a smaller dose to the patient. It consists of an x-ray source, input window, input phosphor, photocathode, vacuum and electron optics, output phosphor and output window. It allows for lower x-ray doses to be used on patients by magnifying the intensity produced in the output image, enabling the viewer to easily see the structure of the object being imaged. Components of Image intensifier are: C-arm (encompasses the actual X-ray source and Image intensifier), table, radiographic exposure and program controls post processing software viewing monitors. There are two types of image intensifier. They are classified into two types namely fixed image intensifier and mobile image intensifier. Fixed image intensifier are used in most x-ray departments as 'screening rooms'. The types of investigations for which this machine can be used for is vast. Examples include: barium studies, endoscopy studies (ERCP), fertility studies (HSG), angiography studies (Peripheral, Central and Cerebral), therapeutic studies. Mobile image intensifier is smaller in design than a fixed image intensifier.
Imagers & Lasers (21 suppliers)
Laser have a very narrow beam which allows the mapping of physical features with very high resolution compared with radar. In addition, many chemical compounds interact more strongly at visible wavelengths than at microwaves, resulting in a stronger image of these materials. Suitable combinations of lasers can allow for remote mapping of atmospheric contents by looking for wavelength-dependent changes in the intensity of the returned signal. Laser imaging systems can be divided into scanning systems and non-scanning systems. The scanning system can again be divided into sub-groups by the way the laser beam is scanned across the object. Beam-scanners scan a narrow beam, typically in lines on top of each other, therefore this type of system is called a Laser Line Scanner (LLS). Fan-beam scanners scan a fan-shape beam across the object
Internet Service (5 suppliers)
The Internet is a worldwide, publicly accessible series of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP). It is a 'network of networks' that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer, and the interlinked web pages and other resources of the World Wide Web (WWW).There are many medical internet service providers. For example Medicine Online Inc. is a World Wide Web directory of medical related sites. Medicine Online is a medical internet service provider for hospitals and the medical community. Medicine Online provides up-to-date medical resources, information, references, and connections for just about anyone in the medical field. It will allow medical organizations such as hospitals, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies to distribute information about their product and services not just locally, but globally via the World Wide Web through e-mail services, database programs, forms, and advertising

Image & Digital Processors (19 suppliers)
Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is the study of signals in a digital representation and the processing methods of these signals. The subfields of signal processing are Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Analog Digital Processing(ASP). DSP includes subfields like audio and speech signal processing, sonar and radar signal processing, sensor array processing, spectral estimation, statistical signal processing, digital image processing, signal processing for communications, biomedical signal processing and seismic data processing. Since the goal of DSP is usually to measure or filter continuous real-world analog signals, the first step is usually to convert the signal from an analog to a digital form, by using an analog to digital converter. Often, the required output signal is another analog output signal, which requires a digital to analog converter. DSP algorithms have long been run on standard computers, on specialized processors called digital signal processors (DSPs), or on purpose-built hardware such as application-specific integrated circuit (ASICs). Today there are additional technologies used for digital signal processing including more powerful general purpose microprocessors, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), digital signal controllers mostly for industrial apps such as motor control and stream processors.
Image Storage Device (22 suppliers)
An image storage device comprising an A/D converter for converting an analog image signal transmitted from a high resolution TV camera into a digital image signal to be stored, a D/A converter to which the stored digital image signal is output after being read out and by which the output digital image signal is converted to an analog image signal to be output to a TV monitor, the device having a plurality of memories for storing a digital signal input as a high resolution image and converted by A/D converter in parallel in time series, a controller for controlling the image signal stored in each memory corresponding to the frame frequency of a receiver to be used at a time lag of one frame, and a selector for outputting the digital image signal read out of each memory to the D/A converter by selecting the image depending on the select signal of said controller .

Insurance (10 suppliers)
Health insurance is generally used to describe a form of insurance that pays for medical expenses. It is sometimes used more broadly to include insurance covering disability or long-term nursing or custodial care needs. It may be provided through a government-sponsored social insurance program or from private insurance companies. It may be purchased on a group basis (e.g., by a firm to cover its employees) or purchased by individual consumers. In each case, the covered groups or individuals pay premiums or taxes to help protect themselves from high or unexpected healthcare expenses. Health insurance works by estimating the overall risk of healthcare expenses and developing a routine finance structure (such as a monthly premium or annual tax) that will ensure that money is available to pay for the healthcare benefits specified in the insurance agreement.
Immunoassays (47 suppliers)
Immunoassays are chemical tests used to detect or quantify a specific substance, the analyte, in a blood or body fluid sample using an immunological reaction. Immunoassays are highly sensitive and specific assays. Their high specificity results from the use of antibodies and purified antigens as reagents. An antibody is a protein produced by B lymphocytes in response to stimulation by an antigen. Immunoassays measure the formation of antibody-antigen complexes and detect them via an indicator reaction. This may be done by precipitation of the immune complexes and measurement of turbidity or light scattering or by labeling either the antibody or antigen with a radioactive tag, enzyme, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent molecule. High sensitivity is achieved by using an indicator system (e.g. enzyme label) that results in amplification of the measured product.
